The date is set, the flowers are selected and the invites are sent. Wedding season is here. The weather is just right and it's the perfect time to pull out those colorful ensembles to wear to a wedding.
Dressing up for a wedding is one of the most exciting and joyous occasions to get dolled up for. Like any occasion, a fashionista can best put together a look for a wedding by simply being prepared and keeping up with the latest trends.

Two managers from David's Bridal share their expert opinions on the latest wedding trends and answer the timeless question ...
Is it okay to wear white?
Ann Arbor's David's Bridal store manager, Christine Lemmon emphatically said, "No. White is not appropriate to wear to a wedding."
Erica Hoeing Robinson, another David Bridal's store Manager, shed some light on rules and trends. Robinson offered a different perspective when it came to the subject of whether white is appropriate for a wedding. "This is a territory where we would consult the bride. For a formal, black and white wedding, the bride may request the guests wear white," explained Robinson. "We have had brides requesting white for the bridal party. The styles tend to be vintage or country-inspired, paired with cowboy boots or possibly a jean jacket for a rustic look," she added.
Bottom line, how do you know when white is or is not appropriate? "Generally speaking, if you are in doubt, opt for color," said Robinson.
Tips and trends
"Sleeves are definitely making a comeback [this season]," Lemmon said. And when it comes to must-have accessories, sashes and flowers are the most important for brides.
"Wear what makes you feel beautiful! Whether it is a soft silhouette that flatters the waistline or a dress with flutter sleeves to provide coverage— if you feel good about what you are wearing, you are going to look great." advised Robinson.
Location and timing
When getting ready for a wedding -- think about the details. Consider the time of day and setting. Will it be held outdoors, in a church, or in an intimate indoor venue? Is the ceremony during the day or evening?
Careful attention to these details can make it easier to distinguish what to wear and will influence how formal or informal the attire should be. Follow your instincts because it will likely guide you to the most suitable fashion choice.
The old standby LBD
Remember, when in doubt of what to wear, opt for the classic LBD (Little Black Dress).
