The CW50 Street Team Takes A Stand Against Bullying at The Stand 4 Change Event

The CW50 Street Team arrived at Campus Martius in Downtown Detroit ready to take a stand against bullying at The 2013 Stand 4 Change Event. The event feauture guests such as Detroit Pistons' player Andre Drummond, Country Music Artists, and 99.5 WYCD's Morning personality Dr. Don. The event was about taking a stand against bullying. It encouraged students as well as employees to help someone from being bullied. Dr. Don said "If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it at all."

The speakers at the event spoke about how bullying is a widely act of deviance. On first recognition, many people over look someone being bullied and don't realize the impact it can have a person's life. The CW50 Street Team learned that every 7 minutes a child is bullied. Bullying can happen in many forms; you can bully someone with your words, by being physical with them or saying harmful remarks online. The Defeat The Label Executive Director Kevin Epling said it is an "...opportunity for students to stand together and so nobody is alone." Bullying is a serious problem in our schools, and The Stand 4 Change Event has helped encourage people to take a stand against bullying.
