The gift of music brings one community together to raise scholarship money for local students.

The Howard Gospel Choir of Howard University is bringing its “Spring Break Tour” to the city of Detroit, on Friday March 15, to assist the New Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church and local gospel artists in growing its scholarship fund.

The Howard Gospel Choir travels extensively around the United States, and even internationally, spreading its message of hope and empowerment. The group is made up of dedicated students, faculty, and Grammy award winning alumni.

The pairing of the acclaimed choir and the New Mt. Hermon church for this concert will not only help raise money for its scholarship fund, but will also present positive role models for the students. They will have the chance to speak with college students they can relate to and gain insight about educational opportunities.

All ticket proceeds received for the event will be donated to the scholarship fund and ultimately awarded to five lucky students that night.

This community event will begin at 7pm and will be held at the Leland Baptist Church. Don’t miss your chance to see this exciting concert!
