Prom is an once-in-a-lifetime experience that every young lady in high school dreams of and plans for. There is much anticipation that goes into shopping for that perfect dress and all the necessary accessories to achieve that glam look for the big night.

With prom season approaching, high school students  are already planning, saving, and shopping for prom night attire. But between all the financial obligations that are expected for senior year, it can be difficult to afford that desired prom attire.

One local organization is therefore lending its efforts to support high school girls in attending prom. Jackets for Jobs is reaching out to the community for prom dresses and other accessories to donate to Detroit Community High School.

Jackets for Jobs is no stranger to promoting generosity to others.  In its 13 years of operations, Jackets for Jobs has helped 14,000 clients seeking jobs in their training program while also donating 100 suits to women in South Africa.

Jackets for Jobs is now looking to bringing smiles to high school girls’ faces by providing  them with beautiful dresses and accessories to wear to their prom. The drop off location for Jackets for Jobs  prom donation is 5555 Conner, Suite 2097, Detroit, MI  48213.

Shoes, wraps, evening bags and any type of costume jewelry are welcomed for donation. Donated items will collected from Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The deadline to collect all prom dresses and accessories is Sunday, March 31.
