Enter Courageous Persuader's Video and Scholarship Competition

By Meagen Mazur

Are you a high school student looking for scholarship money and a chance to be featured on television? Then grab your camera and sign up for Courageous Persuaders' teen anti-drinking video competition!

Each year Courageous Persuaders take a stand against teenage drinking by encouraging high school students to develop 30 second TV commercials highlighting the dangers of drinking for their peers.

You can enter the competition on your own or grab your friends to produce a unique and powerful commercial. The purpose of the competition is to create a message that your classmates can relate to and to promote the power of saying "no."

The program opens the door for a variety of creative approaches such as animation, original songs, and poetry. Think outside the box and generate a concept that will directly impact and effect other teens.

The winners will be honored at an awards ceremony in May and will be presented with generous scholarship rewards ranging from $250 to $3,000. The grand-prize winning commercial will air as a public service announcement on CW50, in Secretary of State Offices across Michigan, and on Courageous Persuaders' website. The grand prize winner will also appear as a guest on CW50's "Street Beat."

Take a stand against underage drinking and make a difference in the lives of your peers. The deadline for video submissions is February 12, 2013.
