Street Beat: Employment Trends

This week on Street Beat, host Rob Stone finds out about employment trends for 2013.

First Chris Stark, the Vice President and Territory Lead for Kelly Services, and Tim McAward, the Vice President with America's Engineering Product Leader division of Kelly Services, take a look at employment trends and how temporary help services like Kelly can help people find more permanent work.

Then, Jose Reyes, the CEO for Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation, and Richard Acosta, the Strategic Operations Manager of One Stop Service Centers, discuss the new agency that is helping Detroiters find and train for jobs.

Next, people have believed for years that manufacturing was a dying field, but Robert Sherer, the Manufacturing Talent Director for Michigan Workforce Development Agency, stopped by to explain the growing need for skilled workers.

Finally, Michele Lewis Watts, the Director of Programs & Operations for the Michigan Women's Foundation, discusses Entrepreneur You, a workshop for women interested in starting their own businesses.

She's joined by Dr. John Moore, an Associate Professor for Walsh College, who discusses Walsh's involvement with the program as well as the new finance lab that recently opened on campus and how it can help all entrepreneurs.
