NKOTB, Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees To Play Detroit

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) It may seem like a dream to women who grew up in the 1980s — but it's real: New Kids on the Block is touring this summer.

And they're bringing 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men with them.

The tour called "The Package" will kick off May 31 in Uncasville, CT, with tickets available starting February on www.ticketmaster.com. American Express card members can get advance tickets beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, January 25.

The Detroit show happens June 8 at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

To make the summer even better for NKOTB fans, the band will release a new album titled "10" on April 2 with the first single "Remix (I Like The)" dropping on iTunes January 28.  "The group has been quietly spending the past six months working hard, writing and recording the album," concert promoters said.

"Ladies, we're coming for you," said NKOTB member Donnie Wahlberg. "This is going to be the craziest year yet-the single, the album, the tour with 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men … We can't wait to give fans 'The Package!'"

NKOTB sold more than 80 million albums worldwide — including back-to-back international No. 1 songs, 1988's "Hangin' Tough" and 1990's "Step By Step" — and a series of crossover smash R&B, pop hits like "You Got It (The Right Stuff)," "Cover Girl," "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)," "Hangin' Tough," "I'll Be Loving You," "Step By Step" and "Tonight." The group shattered concert box office records playing an estimated 200 concerts a year, in sold out stadiums throughout the world.

98 Degrees frontman and Jessica Simpson ex-husband Nick Lachey added: "We are really excited to get back on the road together and tour with our friends in NKOTB and Boyz II Men. Looking forward to playing our hits and trying out some of our new tracks too."
