Metro Times’ Vodka Vodka was once again a hit! This was my second time attending, and the food and drinks were just as delicious as I remembered them! I made my way around the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market multiple times in the four hour period, sampling mixed drinks, desserts, and food…what a way to spend an evening!
First stop was the photo booth – Motor City Photo Booth was there with their booth and lots of fun costume accessories to wear in the pictures. They were giving out free prints and free downloads on their website the next day! So fun!
Next stop, Detroit BBQ Company. I had been saving room in my stomach all day in preparation for the event, so I was ready to eat! I tried two samples of delicious pulled pork before making my way over to Skyy Vodka for a flavored vodka drink. After finishing my first round of samples, I made my way over to the Zumba Mexican Grille station for 2 servings of nachos – one with chicken, one with beef, and both with vodka-infused salsa! Hard Luck Candy Vodka and Absolut were my next drink stops. What a delicious and fabulous night – and I was only getting started!
Cliff Bell’s had the most amazing macaroni and cheese I have ever had – needless to say, I made multiple stops at their booth throughout the night, and I will now be frequenting their restaurant on Park Ave. in Detroit! My last food stop was an unexpected one – The Henry Ford Food Service/Catering Stand. The Henry Ford Chefs really outdid themselves with unique pairings and unlikely combinations. Have you ever had chocolate bacon? I hadn’t, but was pleasantly surprised! Be sure to check them out for your wedding or special event catering!
On to the dessert round! I first tried a sample of delicious cheesecake from Peteet’s Famous Cheese Cakes. Best cheesecake I have ever had! You may have even seen them featured on CW50’s First Forecast Mornings! Of course at Vodka Vodka, normally, amazing desserts are even more amazing because they are combined with Vodka…for example, I went to the Stoli booth for a White Russian in a chocolate shot glass and to the Treat Dreams Bakehouse and Microcreamery booth for Swedish Fish ice cream with vodka in it!!! Please visit Treat Dreams on Woodward in Ferndale for the best ice cream you will ever have! I went for last call at Three Olives and Svedka – not only were they providing delicious drinks, but lots of swag.
Thank you, Metro Times, for a fabulous night of fun, food, and vodka at Vodka Vodka!
