With Thanksgiving right around the corner, you're probably looking forward to spending time with family and sitting down for a delicious turkey dinner.  In the midst of holiday cheer, why not take a moment to give someone less fortunate something to be thankful for? The Shoe Shine Guys make it simple—just browse through your closet for unused shoes, and donate!

Not sure if sandals are needed in the winter? Wondering if you should give up those unwanted high heels? The answer is easy—yes! The Shoe Shine Guys are collecting all styles of shoes. Boots and winter weather shoes will be donated to PBJ Outreach in Plymouth. Composed of volunteers, PBJ Outreach provides food, clothing, and basic social services to the homeless, as well as those living below the poverty level. All other types of shoes will be donated to various organizations that fund their efforts to help the homeless through resale shops, such as Grace Centers of Hope in Pontiac.

With 400 pairs of shoes already donated, The Shoe Shine Guys are on their way to reaching their Thanksgiving goal of 500 pairs. Are you ready to donate, but aren't sure where to go? Shoes can be dropped off at their store, The Great American Shoe Company at 8681 N. Lilley Rd., just south of Joy Rd. in Canton. If that's just a bit too far, give The Shoe Shine Guys a call at (734) 645-2286, and they'll come to you!

For more information about The Shoe Shine Guys, visit their website at www.TheShoeShineGuys.com. You know what they say, 'tis the season to be jolly (or in this case— 'tis the season to donate your unused shoes to help someone less fortunate)! Every pair helps, so donate today!
