Street Beat

Sunday, July 10 at 11:30 a.m.

This week on Street Beat, Syma Chowdhry and the Community Correspondents look at the issues of unemployment with a special emphasis on teens and young adults.

Up first, John Bierbusse of Michigan Works talks about a special program reimbursing employers for re-training costs if they hire displaced workers.

Then Dierk Hall of City Connect Detroit tells Syma about a special program that helps teens find work.

Community Correspondent Stephanie McClung interviews James C.D. Wahls of Urban Employ about the job situation for college students and recent graduates.

Finally, Syma learns about a Teen Money Camp that helps young people understand the importance of budgeting and saving money from Gail Perry-Mason, the financial advisor who founded it.
