Congratulations to Dr. G. Alfred Dodds, cardiologist for Michigan Heart, P.C. at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, for being selected as the 2011 chair of the American Heart Association Washtenaw County Heart Ball.
He will serve as a spokesperson and lead a committee of corporate and medical executives committed to raising $250,000 for cardiovascular research and education.
This year’s gala festivities will have an Italian theme. The ball will be called “Amore del Cuore (Love of the Heart)” and will benefit cardiovascular research and children’s heart health initiatives. It will be held Saturday, Oct. 22nd at the Michigan Union, located on the central campus of U-M at 530 South State Street in Ann Arbor.
Attendees will have an opportunity to enjoy an elegant evening complete with networking, entertainment and silent and live auctions. The Ball begins at 6 p.m. with a silent auction followed by a program featuring an awards presentation, live auction and Open Your Heart opportunity where attendees can make a lifesaving donation to the American Heart Association.
“Our goal is to offer an event that people enjoy, but yet understand is about raising money and giving back to our community,” said Dodds.
