As America’s population ages, the issues and opportunities facing seniors and their families increase. 

First, Street Beat’s Syma Chowdhry talks to Kevin Hatman of the Michigan Humane Society about four-footed companions for elderly parents and the animal adoption fair where one could be adopted.  Syma’s dog, Nala, makes a special guest appearance as well.

Then Community Correspondent Rick Loewenstein talks to Radio Host Jack Krasula about beginning new chapters in life.

Next, Community Correspondent Austin Dobreff finds out about Alzheimer’s from Lisa Gardner, Family Services Program Coordinator, for the Alzheimer’s Association -Greater Michigan Chapter.

Finally, Syma finds out about a program that helps siblings cope with the problems that come with caring for elderly parents from Tina Rowley of Home Instead Senior Care.
