Love Is Never Ugly
It’s a tale as old as time, and yet it never gets old. Beastly was a modern-day Beauty and the Beast, a touching tale of a beautiful woman falling in love with an ugly man who learns inner beauty and the power of love.
It was fun to watch self-consumed, egotistical Kyle be cast under a spell and humbled by a year of ugliness to change his ways. At first, the last thing you want to do is root for him, but his beastly appearance really does change him as you watch him develop a heart, a soul, and feelings for Hudgens’ character, Lindy. At the end of the film, you find yourself rooting for him and longing for Lindy to utter the words ‘I love you’ to lift the spell and turn Kyle back into the handsome man he once was.
Vanessa Hudgens, Alex Pettyfer, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Neil Patrick Harris made up an all-star cast. The young stars did a great job of bringing a favorite fairy tale to life and teaching us that love really is blind!
