DO's and DON'Ts of Valentine's Day

Is it just me, or is Valentine's Day that one day that can make or break a relationship? Thanks to CW50 Detroit, you're going to get a good idea of what Valentine's Day is all about...and how to make this Valentine's Day especially different from the rest.

For all you lovebirds out there, some good tips for Valentine's Day...

DON'T sweat it. Some of you reading this have been in a relationship for months or even years now. After a while...it gets to the point where you really have no clue at all what to do to show the love of your life how much they mean to you.

DO remember it's always best to be as original as possible! That being said, you should do something that could have you and that special someone going back down memory lane. For example, take your Valentine to the same restaurant you two met at or where you had your first date! Believe me, folks...memories are always priceless.

Another thing I would tell you lovebirds...DON'T let your blood pressure rise because you got a "flower" and not a bouquet of roses. For some people, even a card is a huge romantic gesture, so it's always best to remember that old cliché "It's the thought that counts."

DO realize relationships are too long to dwell on something that happened one day and probably isn't too major to begin with. Or, even if you get romanced to death, remember it's Valentine's Day....and you shouldn't expect that same treatment each and every day. Just keep things flowing as they are, and DON'T use Valentine's Day as a "bookmark."

For all you singles ready to mingle...

If you're single and looking to spice things up this Valentine's Day, a fun thing to DO is go out with a bunch of your other single friends and make a night of it! Who says you have to sit in the house and do nothing since you haven't found your match yet? Maybe this could be your day you're proud to be single and don't really plan on changing it. After all, some of us are actually single by choice. Whether something like a career or school comes first, that's completely okay and something to be happy about. Because the truth is, some of us don't even have the time for a relationship.

Sure, being single on a day like Valentine's Day can be a huge bummer...but DON'T pull out all the stops try to find some random person to spend the day with. Try and DO whatever it is you would normally do! A time like Valentine's Day only comes around once a year, so there's nothing wrong with having a little fun.

For those of us hesitant of the blind-dating world, you should DO something with that "someone" you've developed a kindergarten crush for. I should warn you though...it's Valentine's Day so that crush could go just a bit further and DON'T be afraid of letting this happen.

If all that fails, something you could definitely DO...take your parents out for dinner because I'm sure they would love it!

Well, there you go, Detroit! I hope these helpful hints come in handy on February 14th,  and CW50 wishes you all a Happy Valentine's Day!
