Citizen Service Before Self Honors Medal

Nominate a Hero!

Know any people who deserve a little special recognition?  You can nominate them for one of these honors:

Energizer Keep It Going Hall of Fame:
Does someone you know have unwavering determination, an energetic spirit and the drive to make a difference? If so, they could join the ranks of National Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. and the many others recognized for their unstoppable energy in the Energizer Keep Going® Hall of Fame. From now through Feb. 4, 2011, people are invited to enter their own personal stories or nominate someone they know online at www.energizer.com/halloffame. Nominees should embody the Keep Going® spirit by making a positive impact on the world through extraordinary determination and courage.

Build-A-Bear Workshop Huggable Heroes:
Build-A-Bear Workshop recognizes and encourages young leaders, ages eight to 18, who provide extraordinary service in their communities and around the world as Huggable Heroes. The eighth annual search for these special people is now on! Anyone, ages eight and above, is eligible to nominate a candidate (and kids can nominate themselves) by visiting http://www.lovehugssmiles.com/HuggableHeroes.aspx or by picking up an entry form at participating Build-A-Bear Workshop stores in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada. Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 28, 2011.

Citizen Service Before Self Honors:
You can nominate someone for the Citizen Service Before Self Honors that are awarded each year on March 25, National Medal of Honor Day.  Three United States citizens will receive the award for a singular act of extraordinary heroism or a prolonged series of acts that clearly demonstrate a willingness to place his or her own life at risk for others. In all cases the actions being honored must epitomize the concept of "service above self" and must be performed "above and beyond" one's professional or vocational area of responsibility or conduct. Nominations must be received by Friday, February 18, 2011.  Visit http://citizenservicebeforeselfhonors.org for more information.
