This week on Street Beat, Carol Cain looks at the need for emergency food and shelter.

Joining her is Mariam Noland from the Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan and Doug Bitonti Stewart with the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation who talk about the Community Foundation Challenge that will provide funding for 21 non-profit organizations helping those in need.

Then Correspondent Nicol Paige learns about Gleaners Community Food Bank from its President, DeWayne Wells.  Next Nicol talks to Joseph Lane Jr who founded Homeless Angels, a non-profit group providing emergency services to the homeless.

Finally Carol discusses the homeless issue with Brian O’Neal, the founder of the DO Foundation which aids the homeless.

It was a pleasure being on the show with Carol Cain today. I wish the segments of Street Beat were longer. Love your format :-)

Big thanks to Kris Kelly and the wonderful team at CW50 for having me on Street Beat.

Wow! That sounds Great! I would really like to hear and see the show! Brian ONeal brought out the awareness of Homelessness with taking it to the streets!

    • Kris Kelly

Thanks! Brian was a great guest! The show will be posted on line soon, so you will be able to watch it.

Agreed Brian, it would have been beneficial for you and the DOF to have had more time, but it was a great interview, and hopefully brought more awareness to the homelessness situation not only in Detroit, but nationwide.
