DGGs attend 2nd Annual Athletes Adopting Families

Athletes Adopting Families
Athletes Adopting Families went off without a hitch this year!  An evening of entertainment, cocktails, food, and charity, this VIP holiday affair was one the DGGs were honored to attend!
Upon entering the Reserve in Birmingham, MI, a sense of exclusivity definitely comes to mind.  Guests enjoyed gourmet dishes, top of the line drinks, and hob-knobbing with Detroit's elite professional athletes (Red Wings Justin Abdelkader, Jakub Kindl, Darren Helm, Pistons' Bad Boy Rick Mahorn, Lions superstar Louis Delmas, along with Cliff Avril, Kevin Smith, Derrick Williams, All-Pros Herman Moore and Lomas Brown...just to name a few )

SPOTTED:  Detroit's Gossip Girls in celebrity fashion show!

That's right, the girls and I also participated in a runway show (with fashions provided by Golden Hanger Designs), walking with world-renowned model Tiffany Stone, and the inspiring winner of Biggest Loser, Helen Phillips.  We were more than happy to "strut" for attendees as AAF and Volunteers of America raised over $30,000 for families throughout Michigan!

A selfless athlete is the perfect catch!

It was like a breath of fresh air watching professional sports players sign autographs and genuinely speak on how they plan to make a difference this holiday season for the less fortunate.  Making a difference is an understatement.  The money made from Athletes Adopting Families will give over 25,000 children a Christmas morning they deserve.

Only in its second year, I have a feeling this event will grow even bigger in holidays to come.  Thanks to the amazing Sherrie Handrinos and Charles Wells (Boost 1 marketing), Sponsors (complete list at www.athletesadoptingfamilies.com), guests, Volunteers of America Michigan and everyone included in making this event a success for our fellow Michiganders!

Though Christmas is right around the corner, you still have time to adopt your own family or donate to one in need.   Please log on to www.voami.org for more info.
